Flurries of snow brush past your face as your Dragonite soars faster, your right hand holding its neck, the left awkwardly grasping onto the mail bag. You were a girl who worked for Fearow's Mail Company, a rather popular mail service. You had abandoned your dream of becoming champion to gain a stable job and earn income.

Lost in your thoughts, you hadn't noticed your Dragonite letting out a roar, to signal that someone was there. You suddenly snap out and hold tightly onto its neck as the person nears, its silhouette getting clearer. Your breaths were harsh and short as you commanded Dragonite to go down. You couldn't let someone kidnap or kill you, even if the chances were short.

You closed your eyes and braced yourself for impact as the dragon flew down and landed in what you recalled as Mossdeep City. You knew that Dragonite would never try to hurt you, but with your sudden commands and your ragged breathing, Dragonite assumed that you needed to go somewhere quickly and land down quickly. All you saw was the rush of snow and a grey figure before plummeting and everything fading to black.

"Hey. Wake up. Please." A voice urged you to as you slowly stirred back into reality. "Oh, good! You're still alive."

You awoke in a place that you didn't recognize, and you woke with hazy thoughts. Suddenly, everything came back to you as you gulped and stood up before wincing in pain. You supported yourself with the bed and searched around, searching for Dragonite and your mail bag.

"Hey! You should lay down. You survived a pretty heavy fall, even if Skarmory and your Dragonite cushioned you."

"No," You simply muttered. "I-I can't! I have a job! And...And if I don't get that mail delivered, I won't-!" Your voice faltered as you shook at the thought of having to let go of your job. "Where's Dragonite?" You demanded, your voice weak.

"Hey, relax. Please. Your Dragonite is in his ball - it's in your bag."

"I need to go. Now." Another jolt of pain struck you as you fell to your knees, struggling to get up.

"Relax! More pressure and you'll have to go to the hospital!" You ignored his warnings and rummaged through shelves to find your bag. You were about to leave, but the man pulled you back and you turned back to face him, your faces awfully close.

"I need to go." You repeated. "How long have I been here?"

The blue-haired man stared sheepishly at you until he finally answered. "A couple of weeks."

"A couple of weeks?!" You shrieked.

"Please, just lay down, Miss. I'll bring you tea?" He offered nervously.

Perhaps tea could relax your nerves. "Sure." You weakly responded - even if you didn't want tea, you had to sit down. You felt yourself weakening and struggling to even stand up.

Minutes later, you were in (presumably) his bed, tea in your hand. "I'm [Name]." You quietly whispered, just loud enough for him to hear you.

"Steven Stone." You nodded - You were sure you heard his name before, but you just brushed it off.

"May I ask why you were out there in the cold?" He asked, pulling his chair closer.

"I was delivering m-." You snapped your fingers - that's where you had heard his name! Reaching over to your mail bag, you handed him a letter. "This is for you."

Curiosity piqued his interest as he opened the letter carefully, studying the contents. With a final nod, he set the letter aside. "What brought you to be a mailman?" He asked, generally curious.

"I wanted to be a Pokemon trainer, but I kinda...threw that away. I needed a stable job with a good income, so I just became a mailman. It made me happy for a couple of days until I realized it was stressing me out," You continued to ramble about your life, "And, I really want to quit, but I can't, and now I'm lost and stressed out. I need a change, because it's all gone wrong for me." You let out a final sigh and turned to him, surprised to see he was still listening.

"You're a good listener." You said to him, looking at him anxiously. "Usually they would've just talked to someone else or have tuned out by this point."

He smiled at you for what seemed like the millionth time. Not that you didn't like it - his smile was nice and almost comforting. "How can I not? You have a lovely voice." Flushing red, you said your thanks.

"I-I can't do this." He suddenly whispered, and before you could question him, he smashed his lips into yours. His lips were soft and cotton-candy tasting. You didn't oppose this and kissed back softly.

Pulling back and realizing what he just did, Steven blurted out apology after apology. "It's alright!" You assured him.

However, he didn't listen as he rambled on and on. Smiling slightly, you pressed a soft kiss to his lips, shutting him up efficiently. "Don't worry, Steven. I liked it."

You weren't sure how long you were going to stay here, but you knew you were going to enjoy it.
